The pretty, quiet hamlet of Broze, nestles amongst the surrounding vineyards, yet is only 45 minutes from Toulouse. The owners of the property are wine producers themselves and there are several wine trails you can follow to sample the local producers wines.

5 minutes away is the market town of Gaillac. Here you will find 6 modern supermarkets and a full range of shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants, all with a local flavour. Friday is market day in Gaillac and the stalls boast an abundance of locally produced fruit, vegetables, conserves and foie gras. Feast your eyes on the enticing ranges of saucisson, paté, herbs and garlic. Other colourful markets can be found most days in the region.

Restaurants abound in the local towns and villages. The food is excellent and where possible, will be made using local produce. Quality and prices are second to none.

A visit to Cordes-sur-Ciel is not to be missed! Only 15 minutes drive, it is the largest bastide village with medieval streets and outstanding views over the countryside.

20 minutes drive and you will find yourself in the superb bustling city of Albi. Marvel over the spectacular Cathedral, discover the Toulouse-Lautrec museum, and shop in the wonderful array if boutiques in the 'old town' quarter.

Sporting facilities in the area are excellent. Gaillac tennis club provides top class amenities and is very friendly. Golfers are well catered for by 4 challenging courses within a 20 minute radius. The courses are usually uncrowded and welcome visitors. Horse riding in the forest of Gresigne together with walking, fishing, mountain biking and canoeing will help to keep the holiday indulgences under control!

As well as all the nearby attractions, the majestic Pyrenees for skiing followed by lunch in Spain, are only 2 hours by motorway. Or, a dip in the Mediterranean or Atlantic will only take 2 and a half hours.

Whether you favour an energetic, sporting holiday, just want to relax in unspoilt France, or catch the magnificent tourist sights of the Midi, all is available from the cottage at Broze.
