The region is full
of places to visit and activities to partake in. The surrounding
villages have an abundance of markets and restaurants. Small
supermarkets and bakers can be found in Lalbenque and Limonge
nearby. For the more active rock climbing, canoeing, hiking,
tennis, mountain biking and horse riding are all available nearby.

-St Cirq Lapopie: Set high up on the left bank
of the Lot river is a picturesque medieval village full of restaurants,
cafes, artisan studio's and gift shops.
-Lalbenque: Famous for it's Truffle Markets.
These are a much sort after and expensive delicacy in any restaurant.
-Limonge: Where locals and visitors mingle on
a Sunday morning to buy the fresh local produce.
-Cahors: Whilst stocking up at one of the excellent
hypermarkets take time to wander through the streets of this
atmospheric town. Visit the famous cathedral and Pont Valentre
Bridge. Stop and sample the locally produced wine or visit one
of the many restaurants.
-St Antonin Noble Val: Set in the Aveyron River
Gorge overlooked by the towering Roc d'Anglars it has a number
of bars and good restaurants plus a well known sunday market.
Also many sporting activities are available here including canoeing,
rock climbing, mountain biking etc.
-Caves: Prehistoric caves at Peche-Merie and
Gouffe de Padriac underground caves and lake (slightly further
away but well worth a visit) and more locally the fascinating
phosphataries de coup d'Aural. |
