Cabanac Seguenville is a pleasant village situated in mid-Gascony and surrounded by beautiful countryside famous for its garlic both white and purple . The village of Cox is 5 minutes away and has a supermarket and is the nearest place to get your daily bread. A little further away is Beaumont de Lomagne which has supermarkets, banks, petrol station, cafes, pharmacies, restaurants and hotels. This area of France has many old picturesque towns and villages (Beaumont de Lomagne is 13th century) and in the 12th Century it was the most civilised region of what is now France. Auch, Moissac, Albi, Toulouse, Montauban, Cordes sur Ciel, Carcassonne are all within easy reach and there are many local, ancient villages with cafes and restaurants. The area is famous for its gastronomy, cassoulet, fois gras, duck and Toulouse sausage and a typical local menu costs 10-12 euros. There are many local markets.

Things to do

The region is full of places to visit and activities to partake in. The surrounding villages have an abundance of markets and restaurants. Other activities include golf, cycling, walking, horse riding, swimming and bird watching. There is also a large leisure lake at Beaumont offering fishing and boating. An outside pool is open in the summer months with fun slide.

-Lachapelle: An 18th century church set in a small village. The church has an amazing interior which is well worth a look. Admission Free.

-Moissac: Medievil town set on the edge of the canal du midi. Large market every sunday and the Abbey and Cloisters with superb romanesque sculpture makes a great day out.

-Montauban: 13th Century town with handsome central square with restaurants, bars and shops where you can relax and watch the world pass by. The Bishops Palace is now an art gallery. On the outskirts there are large retail parks with hypermarkets etc.

-Further afield:

-Carcassonne: Large walled medieval city full of restaurants and gift shops which pass you by as you take a slow stroll around. Quite touristy but well worth a visit. Aprrox 1.5 hrs away.
